How to Reset Your Home in 7 Days

The new year is a natural time for fresh starts—but it doesn’t have to mean big changes. Sometimes, all it takes are small, thoughtful steps to make your home feel calmer, your routines easier, and your days lighter. That’s why we created the 7-Day Reset, a guide to refreshing your home in just 15 minutes each day. Focus on the little wins, enjoy the process, and let gentle shifts set a positive tone for the year ahead.

Day 1: Tame the Everything Drawer

We all have it—the drawer where batteries, rubber bans, takeout menus, and mystery items go to hide. Empty it out, get rid of anything broken or no longer needed, and sort the rest so you can grab it without the hunt.

Day 2: Check for Expired Food

Scan your fridge and pantry for anything past its prime. Toss expired items, give shelves a quick wipe down, and enjoy seeing exactly what you already have. No deep overhaul—just a clearer view of your food to make meal planning easier!

Day 3: Streamline Makeup & Skincare

Sort through all your products and let go of anything expired or over 12 months old. Keep only what you love and use regularly. Fewer items make your daily routine simpler, and your counter or vanity instantly lighter.

Day 4: Paper Refresh

Gather all the loose papers in your home—mail, receipts, school forms—and put them into three piles: recycle, shred, and keep. File only what you truly need and let go of the rest. A tidy paper system can save time and stress every day.

Day 5: Clear Your Email Inbox

Spend a few minutes deleting old messages, unsubscribing from emails you never read, and organizing what’s left into folders to create a system. Even a small inbox reset can put you in a better headspace.

Day 6: Counter Clutter

Pick one surface—kitchen counters, a nightstand, or wherever items tend to collect—and clear it off. Return items to their homes, wipe the surface, and have a clean slate. Seeing one uncluttered spot can spark motivation to do more!

Day 7: Reset & Reflect

Refill your essentials, clear out items to donate, and take a moment to appreciate your progress. You’ve spent a week fulfilling small changes that add up to a calmer home—and that deserves an applause!
